Ok - Here are some of our party ideas. We actually made hard copy invitations since my kids were SO excited about personally inviting their friends. So far we have about 20 people committed to come. I'm trying to figure out how to get more party favors so no one goes home sad! As far as treats we will be having banana splits, banana smoothies, Monkey tails (mini corn dogs), and Jungle Juice (koolaid). Decorations will simply be crepe paper streamers all over the house and bunches of balloons with bananas as the weights to hold them down. We made a sign to put on the door that says, "Enter Here for Some Monkey Business". When the guests first arrive we will make monkey ears and tails (headbands with felt ears and craft foam tails)for each guest to wear throughout the party. Then the games will begin. We will play pass the banana. Like hot potato, but the kids will pass a banana around, when the music stops, the kid holding the banana is out. Pin the tail on Jake. (Sorry Jake) Play Monkey, Monkey, where's your treat. Have one child play the part of the monkey. This child must sit in a chair in the middle of the room with their eyes covered. Place a banana under his or her chair. While the child's eyes are covered, ask another child to steal the banana and hide it somewhere on their body (pockets, etc.). Then, everyone will sing, Monkey, Monkey, where's your treat? Somebody stole it from your seat. The monkey has three chances to choose who stole it. If the monkey guesses correctly, he or she gets to do it again. If the monkey guesses wrong, then the child who had the banana gets to be the monkey. Follow the monkey (follow the leader). The monkeys must walk and act like monkeys. Then we will have treats and watch the movie. I CAN'T EVEN WAIT!!! I LOVE PARTIES!!! (oh yeah, and my kids can't wait either!)

Here is a recipe they might like my kids do......make roll ups with soft taco type shells...spread w peanut butter drizzle w honey and put a banana inside and some choc chips or sunflower seeds my kids love them this way and they're fairly good for them... You could call them Monkey and Bird worms ;).
Another great snack if you're looking for candy try a candy store look for Banana shaped candy or even those candies called Runts that are shaped like fruits.

My favorite character is the Armadillo and my favorite moment is when he sings I'm a armadillo. My youngest, Jadden (3 yrs) loves the monkey and he is constantly trying to blow bubbles out of his ears. He doesn't understand why he can't.

MaryanneA, Thanks for your comment - if you were selected as a host, you will receive a DVD when you throw a party. It's not too late to set up your party. You can set up your party page by choosing "my party" on http://www.houseparty.com/bigfieldtrip. Hope this helps!

I am completely new to all of this and I find it confusing. I'd like to get a dvd and throw a party.........are they only giving out a specific number of dvds? Am I too late? I've been going through the website and can't find anything that has to do with this dvd.....what am I missing?

I didn't tell my kids until I got the email that we'd gotten in on this one but once I did boy they were ratteling off a list of names for the kids they want to invite........how am I to keep my sanity??? Oh well I guess I'll be swinging from my ceiling fans before the night is over or the sun comes up lol, but it will be all worth it when I see my munchkins enjoy their selves. Now why didn't we get to do these cool things when we were kids???? Oh yeah thats right the internet was in its infancy; now they can watch streaming videos of their favorite cartoons on the Cartoon Network site and we had to wait to see our favorite cartoons....... now I am jealous lol!

I just visted the cartoon network website. There's lots of fun stuff to do there. It would be nice if the character info (which I found on their website) was avail here on house party to print out. I would like to send out a "pick your character" with my hard copy invites. Then have printed characters w/ their description avail to pass out to guests. I am new to this tv program, so I viewed some past episodes online and checked the schedule for the next air time. I was surprised at the basic premise of this cartoon. Much better than I expected. I can see how it can be used to help kids with those tough times at school.

Add search would be fun. Buy 2 or 3 child mags, that have the picture of the party logo or show. Whoever finds it first gets to keep the magazine. Episode slam books could be another party participation game. Make your own story and do a madd libbs, fill in the blank with silly words. What were you doing the day you saw this episode or commercial for show? Wow,gotta lots to plan for.
