Ok - Here are some of our party ideas. We actually made hard copy invitations since my kids were SO excited about personally inviting their friends. So far we have about 20 people committed to come. I'm trying to figure out how to get more party favors so no one goes home sad! As far as treats we will be having banana splits, banana smoothies, Monkey tails (mini corn dogs), and Jungle Juice (koolaid). Decorations will simply be crepe paper streamers all over the house and bunches of balloons with bananas as the weights to hold them down. We made a sign to put on the door that says, "Enter Here for Some Monkey Business". When the guests first arrive we will make monkey ears and tails (headbands with felt ears and craft foam tails)for each guest to wear throughout the party. Then the games will begin. We will play pass the banana. Like hot potato, but the kids will pass a banana around, when the music stops, the kid holding the banana is out. Pin the tail on Jake. (Sorry Jake) Play Monkey, Monkey, where's your treat. Have one child play the part of the monkey. This child must sit in a chair in the middle of the room with their eyes covered. Place a banana under his or her chair. While the child's eyes are covered, ask another child to steal the banana and hide it somewhere on their body (pockets, etc.). Then, everyone will sing, Monkey, Monkey, where's your treat? Somebody stole it from your seat. The monkey has three chances to choose who stole it. If the monkey guesses correctly, he or she gets to do it again. If the monkey guesses wrong, then the child who had the banana gets to be the monkey. Follow the monkey (follow the leader). The monkeys must walk and act like monkeys. Then we will have treats and watch the movie. I CAN'T EVEN WAIT!!! I LOVE PARTIES!!! (oh yeah, and my kids can't wait either!)
