There are four ways in which you can shoot video:
- Your Digital Camera: Some digital cameras also allow you to shoot video. If you're not sure if your camera can shoot video, consult your camera's user guide. If you lost your user guide, then go to check http://tech.yahoo.com/fp and search for your brand and model number. After recording your video, upload to your computer via your USB cable that shipped with your camera. Then proceed to login at www.houseparty.com and click on "My Media," and upload your videos.
- Your Webcam: Some computers have built in webcams that can capture live video. To upload, use your firewire connection and save the file to your computer. Then proceed to login at www.houseparty.com and click on "My Media," and upload your videos. For more information regarding your specific webcam, check out http://tech.yahoo.com/fp and search for your brand and model number.
**You'll need to capture your video into a video program if you don't already have one. For macs, the most common program is iMovie, and for PC's the most common program is Windows Movie Maker. If you don't have either of these programs, check out some of these sites to download a video capturing/editing program:
- http://www.newfreedownloads.com/find/video-capture.html
- http://www.zs4.net/
- Your Mobile Phone Device: Many mobile devices have the ability to record video. You can email the video to yourself, save it to your computer, and upload to www.houseparty.com by logging in and clicking on "My Media."
- Your Camcorder: After you've shot video with your camcorder, upload the video to your computer via your firewire or USB connection. Then proceed to login at www.houseparty.com and click on "My Media," and upload your videos.
**Your files will most likely be in DV, MPEG, or AVI format. Please make sure that your video is under 100MB. In order to make your files smaller, you may need to export your files from your video software at a smaller size, (usually MPEG and AVI are smaller.)
