HP Tip

Make it Fun for Babies and Moms!

        Mom/Baby Activities:

  • With other moms, sing fun children’s songs and clap hands while involving babies
  • In a group, shake rattles with your baby and be sure to give them a try
  • Play CDs of children’s songs throughout the party
  • Play puppets using fun, silly voices
  • Use plastic cups, measuring cups and spoons for stacking and tapping
  • Provide colorful fruits or vegetables for babies to touch and explore – make sure they are clean
  • Play favorite baby games like peek-a-boo, ball rolling and crawl and catch
  • With babies on laps, stretch and “reach for the stars” together

What activities are you looking forward to?

We are going to play peek-a-boo and make "rattle rollers." I have some old pringles containers that we are going to fill with beans and glue the lid shut and then decorate the outside. The babies can roll them and shake them!

Yes, music instruments are something that babies and siblings would enjoy! Im also thinking about some "parachute" time, made with a sheet and trowing some balls or teddy bear on it, that would be awesome!

I love all the ideas! I too have bought Gerber onsies (with my coupon :) and fabric paint for decorating. I think tomorrow I will go get plain bibs too. I made iron on transfers of the Gerber Baby so I think we will put them on the bibs instead of the onsies! What a great party!! I am also going to make an organic fruit salad for moms and also make organic veggie burgers and sweet potatoe chips! I can't wait!!!

Sounds like you are all getting well ready for Saturday. I have some plain tank-tops that the moms can put baby handprints on, the pool will be up and ready for the bigger kids and I have a playstructure outside for them as well. I will have various musical toys and balls for us moms to play with our babies. I just hope some people show. Are any of you coming across the same problem as I am, everyone is going on vacation this weekend! Maybe I will do it next weekend if no one can make it.

I purchased some white Gerber Onesies, that I will have out for us to decorate with our babies! With fabric paint and iron-on letters, I think it might be fun to put our babies handprints to capture their ages! Everyone will be free to decorate how they choose. I also created personalized bibs for each guest to go along with their favor bags.

My baby guests range from 3 months (she just gets to enjoy watching) to 6 year olds. I want everyone involved so I am setting up a slip-and-slide for the toddlers and older kids. We also have a trampoline and a kiddy pool. My party will be in my back yard, so I hope the weather is nice!

oh waterwall I love your indoor sandbox idea! I think I'm too OCD to do that indoors. What about using brown sugar instead of sand? Since you are using other foods. Like brown sugar, plain old fashioned oatmeal, cheerios and marshmallows. Hmmm.....

What activity is everyone doing? I made some bibs out of white cotton and I'm getting some little stencils with fruits and veggies and they are going to decorate the bibs with the stencils and fabric markers. I put a lot of work into making the bibs, they are same kind I make for gifts that I give out. I still have 5 bibs to make AGH! I'm also going to buy a variety of organic fruit for the babies to play with, and I'll be educating the moms on the importance of organics and how to read produce labels (the little stickers), the dirty dozen, and how to understand the different terms such as "natural", "organic", and "certified organic" and what requirements are necessary for the products to be labeled as such. WOW! The moms have no idea what they are getting into with me LOL. AND the free goodies for them are a total surprise!

We have created indoor sand boxes using plastic containers and bags of rice, sand and marcshmallows. The kids can then use their stacking cups to scoop the "Sand" and play with it.
