Expert Tip #5—KITCHEN FLOORING

Important factors to consider when selecting kitchen flooring:

Cleanability—for easy care, choose vinyl, laminate or ceramic tile

Durability—ceramic, stone, laminate and concrete stand up best to kids and pets

Longevity—stone and ceramic tile, hardwood, cork and concrete stand the test of time

Moisture Resistance—tile, vinyl and certain laminates (check manufacturers’ warranties) are more water-resistant

Allergens—hard flooring, such as ceramic or wood, have fewer crevices to harbor dust mites and allergens

I have wood flooring that has not held up well over time. I am planning on replacing it with tile. I have still not decided how I am going to do this and what I will use exactly.
