ok it was kind of hard to blog and host at once... here's what happened- most of the invitees had cancelled for one reason or another but Brenda, Amanda, Megan, and Jessi joined me for some sweet chocolate fun and a couple of movies. We played the word game I mentioned earlier, first writing two descriptive words for each letter of the alphabet and then each person had to write the name of any one person attending at the top of their word sheet. (Everyone except me chose Jessi.) Then you had to use the 2 descriptive words for your first initial that the person who's name you had chosen wrote --as part of your name...(so everyone had to use the words Jessi wrote and I had to use the two that Amanda wrote)... our names ended up as follows--
Appetizing Appealing Amanda, Bitty Bouncy Brenda, Joyous, Jester Jessi, Mexican Matted Megan, and Lifting Luxurious Linda. It took a while to play the game and in between we tasted the three varieties of Hershey Bliss Chocolate--First everyone tried the Dark Chocolate- it got mixed reviews- not everyone cared for dark chocolate in general and one said it had an after taste they didn't like. Then we tried the milk chocolate- it was very good and everyone liked it. Finally we all tried the milk chocolate melt away- it was by far the favorite! After visiting a bit and eating some more chocolate we got something to drink (wine for those old enough, water and soda for the youngest.)
Then we went down stairs and watched the movie 'Chocolat' with Johnny Depp and munched on some popcorn with chocolate drizzle and some chocolate covered pretzels and more Hershey Bliss Chocolates. The movie and chocolate were both hits!! We all really enjoyed it (I was the only one who'd seen 'Chocolat' before and enjoyed it just as much as the first time.) Then Rudy made steaks on the grill and we had dinner (Steaks, baked potato, salad, corn, home-made salsa & Guacamole, and some fresh strawberries.) After dinner we continued the chocolate fest with another movie-- we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (with Johnny Depp) Wow, two chocolate Depp movies in one night!! Brenda left (around 9pm.) The others are getting ready to watch another Johnny Depp movie-- Sweeney Todd.
Sorry didn't get it all blogged sooner. I only took a few more pictures and just now posted them.
I gave out the goodie bags which had more Hershey's Bliss Chocolate, note pads & Pen, and magnet and a few other goodies.
Mom since you couldn't be here in person, as an honorarie attendie who tried so hard to join in... you get the name from the descriptive words I picked for the letter L-- Lushiously Lipsmacking Lou and a goodie bag that I will deliver in person next weekend!!
Thanks for trying to play along-- maybe next party you can attend in person:)
