A party-planning checklist:
- Are all of my guests confirmed? Have they registered on HouseParty.com?
- What can I ask them to bring (other than their clothes for swap)? Refreshments? Wine?
- Do I have a full-length mirror for my “dressing room” try-on area? What about extra hangers?
- What about a space to set up the Rowenta Pressure Iron and Steamer, along with an ironing board, and a bar or rack to steam items on hangers?
- Do I want to suggest to my guests that we donate the clothes that don’t get traded to a local charity or shelter?
Share your party plans with everyone here!

I think we may have a "Dueling Steamers" match, LOL! My g/f Maria has a Rowenta (older model) and wants to challenge me to a steam-off. I mean, as if...may have to send her to the Misbehaving Guests Room...

You all have such great ideas. We've been so busy working on our donation aspect, I hadn't focused on goodies for my guests. Thank you so much for all of your comments.

I've been busy making decorations! I took old scrapbooking paper and made paper dresses, tops, etc and used ribbon, buttons and little embellishments to style them up - each one is designed to look like my guests - glue on a wooden skewer and pop into oasis to finish them off with each person's favorite flower...just another little goodie for them to take home. This is so much fun!

I'm going out to Wal-mart to buy some stuff for the party today. I want to get lots of extra hanges, might even put some in my basket give-away. Also might get a lint brush, Tide Stain Pens, dryer sheets, all kinds of little items. Then I'm going to get those little lint brushes, Tide pens, and anything else I can find to put in the goodie bags for each guest.

I am having a 'most wrinkled item' contest. The winner will receive a basket with my favorite laundry detergent, stain remover, dryer sheets, starch and Tide stain pens. We are also doing a jewelry exchange!

I am so excited about this party! We are going to donate the clothes and since we all love to sew will even work on some projects as well. My guests are bursting at the seams (pun intended) to give this baby a spin!

Found some really cute satin padded hangers at Home Goods in the clearance isle - $7 for 10 and lavender scented drawer liners for $5 - I'll roll those up with some nice ribbon - love the idea of sample sized goodies too! Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm going to head over to Home Goods to see if I can find some snappy hangers, ironing board cover, laundry basket, etc. Hangers and little things for party bags but the board cover, basket, etc will go to the top "most donated clothes" and "most horrible item to iron" awards.

I have had to go in and confirm all my guests - they say they can't figure out what type of party it is or how to confirm. Either way, they are coming and very excited!

I am so excited to try this iron/steamer. Everyone is now cleaning out their closets to donate all the items that we press and stream. We have a local womens shelter nearby, that can use the help.

Thanks for the suggestion about hangers! That, plus a small sewing kit and sample size bottles of laundry detergent and softener will make nice party favors.

ANDREAESTES... Great Idea! I'm going to also try to think of tips of my own (such as home-made laundry soap recipe my family uses... and that if you put 1-2 fabric softener sheets into a spray bottle w/water it's an economical 'wrinkle-releaser'!).
