Very Disappointed

Conversation started by JenniferHodges

I am very disappointed in the Photoworks party giveaways.  I was so excited when I won because I had just been to my neighbors Cannon party and it was AWESOME!  We made a great project and actually received a Cannon All Occasion Greeting Card kit.

When I went on  the website to redeem my $50 gift certificate I found the site difficult to use and very expensive.  I was able to purchase some cool items like a bookmark, small book,  Stickers, note pad and a mug.  When I received the items I LOVED the sticky notepad; however when I picked it up it broke in half, now the picture  is of me and my husband’s head chopped off.  I was a bit bummed when I recieved the little book I created of our Disney vacation.  It was paperback. Everything else looked okay. Nothing Great!

When I received my box of goodies for the party I was like “are you serious”.  A pen, a magnet and a recyclable bag and a coupon.  I think the favors were very lame.  To be honest I would be embarrassed to have a party around the items that were sent.  So I ended up turning it into a scrapbook day ad planning to incorporate the event.  I hope you all have great success.  I am not a happy hostess!

I have about a 1/2 hour left before my party but, needless to say - I'm not very impressed with Photoworks.com, this party, or the giveaway items. I, too, hate to complain when the items were free but my daughter picked up two of the bags to fill them with the small goodies that came with the package plus more I purchased myself to FILL the bags and two of the handles ripped so I can't use them.

My camera takes amazing photos and the items I received from my photoworks.com order were very grainy, the colors were off, and they did not look like they did on the order screen. The only item I was impressed with was the 8x10 calendar I ordered. Everything else was pretty lame.

I'm not sure how I will pull this off as a successful party but the girls and I will have fun together regardless. I do think I'm going to have a hard time selling the Photoworks.com site over sites my friends are familiar with like Walmart.com and Walgreens.com. The prices are just way too high in comparison.

I was also disappointed about the goodies I thought maybe their would be more so I just printed off the downloads that they sent so I made them a packet of info.

I am also disappointed. I agree that the favors are not very good. I would have liked my guests to go home with more products. My magnets also had black marks across them and one of the magnets was left out of the order. It will be difficult to talk up these products. However, a few of the Christmas card examples sent in the packet were very cute.

I was so excited to be accepted as most parties I have applied for I get rejected. The items came quickly - I agree they are pricey. I liked everything except for the mousepad - I ordered it to give away to my parents in the uK - I cannot send it to them as the colors are all off - everyone looked really red. I was extremely disappointed with the giveaways and don't think the 25% off coupon to give to anyone is really "all that" as you can already get that from the other sites like Shutterfly, Snapfish etc. I switched my party to a tea get together and will share the site with my friends and show them what I got. Not sure I will give them a pen and a bag though lol!!! I think I have about 7 or eight people coming.

I suppose I am not that impressed either. I went out and spent alot more money to make it worth my guest time. Maybe they'll make it up to us somehow, hmmmmm It'll be nice to party with all of my friends tonight, regardless.

I totally agree. I hate to complain about the products, since they were free, but I ordered photo magnets and they were incorrectly done and completely scratched across the front in multiple places. My mouse pad and mug turned out ok, though the mug is scratched in a few places as well. I, too found the products to be a bit on the spendy side and with so many people trying to save money right now, I just don't see any of my guests ordering much, if anything tonight. You can find the same types of products just about anywhere these days and with coupons, why pay the high shipping??

At any rate, I will get to spend some time with a few girlfriends tonight and can show them what I have.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way! I also thought that in addition to high prices for the items, the shipping and handling charges were OUTRAGEOUS. Thankfully as hostesses we didn't have to pay it, but I'd have a hard time with it if I were ordering on my own.

I also thought that the quality of the photos on the items (mug, mouse pad, luggage tag) left a lot to be desired - and I know it wasn't my image quality, as a few were professional pics from my wedding. The calendar did have good image quality, so I think it was the printing.

Luckily I only have 6 friends coming, and we're doing crafts, as well, so it won't be a total flop!

I am also a bit disappointed. I went to a Martha Sewart Party last week and had a blast. They sent a lot of cool stuff. This one is boring. Giveaways are also embarrasing. I am glad most of my guests can't come.
