Just like hosts across the country, now’s the time for you to start planning your Clairol Color Connection House Party.

To help you organize your preparations consider these questions:

  • What should I serve? What can I ask my guests to bring?
  • How should I decorate?
  • What other favorite activities should I plan while guests are coloring their hair?
  • What extra touches will make the party more fun?
  • Who will take “before and after pictures”?

Remember, you and six of your guests will have the chance to walk the celebrity red carpet and attend The 36th Annual People’s Choice Awards while staying at a luxurious hotel by posting your “before and after” photos/videos at totalbeauty.com. Details will follow in the party favors.

Remember to keep one voucher for yourself and distribute the remaining vouchers to your guests immediately so they can pick up a Clairol product and perform the required allergy test.

Be sure to visit party favors for loads of new ideas in home hair coloring.

Share your party plans with us!  Guests: share your colorful suggestions!

I went to target yesterday and got the color for my sister and myself. Is anyone else having an issue with their coupons? The clerk didn’t know what to do with them, and I didn’t know what to tell her so after about 20 min’s of waiting for the manager she just clicked the manual override and gave me the color. I know my attendees haven’t’ bought their color yet and I don’t want them to have any drama getting their color. Please e-mail me at Christine.m.smith@valic.com with any insight. Thanks!

Ok, the gift bags are officially together with tons of stuff that I added myself. I am fixing pasta salad, spinach artichoke dip and a carrot cake that says Clairol. Guests are asked to bring something too.
I hope everyone goes ahead and brings their "wares" to share with all of us- hoping for jams, reusable bags, candy, jewelry, etc. Also hope everyone brings other things they would like to swap. We are also swapping coupons and sharing coupon stories.

We are NOT dying our hair here as I do NOT live in a mansion where 7 people can dye their hair AND shower. I really can't believe anyone does. That would be very messy not to mention not enough hot water for 7 people.

I can't wait until saturday! I moved up my party to early afternoon and then we are all going to the movies. I have been waiting to dye my hair and believe me its time. We are all going to vote on who ends up with the best color and I will treat the one who wins with their movie ticket and popcorn.

Well, this hasn't turned out like I thought it would! I invited 20 moms for a Girls' Night In, and now only 3 are coming. No one wants to dye their hair and have to take a shower with the others around, so I guess it will just be me. :(

I'm planning for a spa theme as well, hopefully they'll want to do pedicures, chat and relax.

I had so many people say they were interested and now only one that is definitely confirmed as coming. I'm so upset! I was going to have a cocktail party (with most of the cocktails AFTER the hair dye) and then a night on the town with our new, madeover styles! I'm still going to get goody bags out to the people who can't make it, though, to spread the Clairol love a little bit :)

wow! hard to believe it will be this Sat. I did not realize that until i checked in with the site. I have not put a lot of thought into it yet because i did not realize it was here already(been pretty busy lately). I have a couple cofirmed and my daughter who is 9 wants to join in too so this will be interesting. A few of my usual party goers will be out of town and prom this weekend so my turn out will not be half what it usually is. But hoping to have a great time anyway! Now just to figure out what to serve. lol.

Hi everyone. I am last minute as usual but excited. Ordering my cake with logo as some of you are and a large sub. I know I saw it before but now I cannot find the release forms. Can someone help? Thanks. Like the idea of towels and hand held sprayer. Have been a little anxious about how to make the coloring process as easy as possible for multiple people. Will appreciate any other suggestions.

I am putting together goodie bags for all the guests, not just the "chosen 7". I have included other makeup items, chocolate, tea, etc..I have two Mary Kay ladies coming to help with makeup. We are all bringing clothes, shoes, accessories we are tired of for a "recycle party", swapping them, for a fashion makeover too! Everyone is bringing an exotic drink to share. This will be fun!

I am trying to figure out what type of activities to do...I know some people are doing manicures and facials. Most of us are going to go ahead and color our hair prior to the actual party. My apartment isn't big enough to accomodate 9 people dying their hair - and it will save on time as well. We are just taking before & after pics and those that can do video are doing it! So, now I'm wondering what exactly do we DO? LOL.

Any ideas? TIA!

I have added even more stuff to my guests bags- Glade soy candle, etc. I also found a really awesome "recipe" for homemade Biore strips made out of Knox gelatin, so I am hoping to print or write that on some fancy cards and include that in everyone's bags. The guests I have talked to are also going to bring "items" for everyone ranging from candy my one friend makes, to possible some homemade jams, reusable bags, etc. I think this may be the party of the century. May have a cake that says Clairol (stole that idea from someone else on here). By the time the party abounds, the guests bags will be overflowing and I will need a grocery sack for everyone.

Looking so forward to the party. I put my party bags together today and included a few extra goodies. I went to Sallys hair supply to get some vinly capes to use while we color our hair. Yippie! They were on sale for $3.33ea! They also had their nail polish buy two get one free. So they're all getting that too! I also bought plain white bath towels from Walmart, because they can be bleached back to white. I ordered a sheet cake with Clairol written across the top and I'm aslo serving mints, nuts, chips and dip and Strawberry Bellinis. YUMMY!!! Sip :) I have two extra girls coming who did not want to color their hair. They are going to help with applying the color and rinsing. Can't wait!!!

I hate to admit that I have done very little towards planning my party. We found out a week ago that my daughter (10) needs hip surgery that is going to happen tomorrow so we have really been concentrating on that but it is going to be full speed ahead after that (I hope). I think I will go through and read everyone's plans and 'steal' all the best - lol. Love the coupon swap concept!

I am also making my Clairol hair party a coupon swap since most of my guests are extreme couponers just like I am. I am also asking them if they have anything to swap- clothes, makeup, etc to go ahead and bring it and maybe everyone can go home with some "new" stuff. I also have put a bunch of stuff in the bags that I get FREE from couponing such as toothbrushes, soap, more hairspray, mousse, first aid kits, etc.
I like throwing really memorable parties and especially ones where the guests feel important and get to take things home.

I am asking that everyone bring something, like a potluck, since I don't really cook and all. We are not dying our hair at my house, since my bathroom is a crap hole and dying hair is messy. I am passing out the bags and then we are all deciding and talking about the hair color but then everyone is going to do that at their own house.

I think it will still be great but since we're not dying our hair I figured the coupons and swap shop would take up enough time to have a good party.

My party package arrived last Tuesday, and, boy, what a package! It's such a great way to get the girls together and have fun! I'm also making "goodie bags" for my guests' husbands---hey, they gotta get a few nice things too, even though none of the guys will be dying their hair. It's gonna be lotsa fun---and the girls are gonna go out this next week and get their dye! I can't wait!

I can't wait for the big day. Me and the girls are going to go buy our dye later on today. I am also going to pick up some extra goodies for the girls. I am getting travel size goodies from walmart. Why not fill them big bags up with more stuff. Since there is already stuff for your teeth and hair I am going to get deoderant, hand lotion, perfume, chapstick/lipgloss, hand sanitizer and some other small sized goodies. Its going to be a great day.

It's up to you and your guests how many color. The color isn't expensive, and most don't mind buying their own.

I'm picking up some inexpensive towels from work, and one of those hand held sprayers you can slip over the faucet to help keep things neat.

Hi everyone. Looking forward to my party May the 2nd but need to understand exactly how it works. Since only 7 vouchers are sent does that mean only 7 people will have their hair colored? Any details you guys can share will be most appreciated.

So, several of my guests said they don't want to post photos. Anyone else run into this? I know I have to respect thier wishes and I want to, just wondering if anyone has same issue? My one friend went crazy when I asked her to upload a photo.
