Countdown to New Year's Eve.......what are you doing New Year's Eve?

One tradition I started and my kids ask for every year are known as my "countdown bags".  Very simple.  Label small bags with a clock face, I begin with seven o'clock and make a bag for each subsequent hour.  In the bags I put items relevent to the evening. Some have paper plates, etc for "snack time", some have balloons to fill with confetti (use a funnel) or write out fortunes on paper and pop into the balloons, one may have a watch for the countdown, you get the idea.  My kids absolutely go nuts with this, waiting to see what the next hour brings.

Another good idea for the bag is sparkling cider with plastic glasses to toast the New Year!  I usually burn a CD with old favorites (even auld lagne sein) with the suggestion of a "dance off".  and I always include a camera early on (disposible) so they can record the events.
