Syrup for Snow Cone or Slushy
posted by trashpig
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 envelope unsweetend Kool-Aid
Directions:
Many recipes tell you to put this on the stove or use cold water. Not. Just use hot water and shake it. The hot water makes your sugar dissolve so much faster than cold would, with no standing over a hot stove. The density of the sugar cools the syrup to room temperature pretty quickly.
We purchased the "real" snow cone syrup a few years ago so we'd have the bottles for reuse. The ones at Wal-Mart have nice tight sealing flip-top squirters. I make up a double batch and shake in the bottles to mix. If you remove the labels the bottles look colorful and festive just by having an assortment of flavors. Our most popular is 1/2 grape & 1/2 black cherry. Making these should be even easier for those who have the Margaritaville Concoticon Maker. :)

We made this again last night, so yummy. We have a pretty funky "Mr Snowman" ice shaver, know of any good snow cone makers, seems to be a popular treat with my kids/friends. thank you.....................
