Bourbon Slush

posted by cottonapple

Ingredients:

Important note: Make at least a day or two in advance to allow for freezing.
4 tea bags (not herbal)
2 cups sugar
1 12 oz can frozen orange juice concentrate
1 12 oz can frozen lemonade concentrate
2 cups water
1 pint (or approx 2 cups) Seagrams 7 or other bourbon whiskey
7 cups cold water
7 Up soda
There's no strong flavor of whiskey in this drink so don't be fooled by its name. It's very yummy.

Directions:

In a large pot, bring two cups of water to a boil and remove from heat.
Place tea bags in the hot water and steep for 20 minutes to make a strong brew.
Remove the tea bags and add 2 cups of sugar and both cans of concentrate.
Stir over low heat until completely dissolved.
Remove from heat, then add liquor and 7 cups of cold water.
Mix well.
Pour mixture into large freezable containers with secure lids and place in freezer.

(Tip:  The whiskey tends to settle to the bottom of the container during freezing so
it helps to stir the mixture after about 4 hours of freezing to distribute it more evenly.)

After mixture is frozen, scoop into glass (about 1/2 full), add 7 Up and stir.  Enjoy!!

Yield:

It depends how big your glasses are:)
